Dust & Rust

7 o'clock, I can feel it, deep in my veins, it's there everyday
7 o'clock, I can feel it, there in my bones, it's the same everyday
throw me in the stocks, lay me on the block, swing from a rope
the first estate is ending

But this field still pushes grain
grain that turns gold
and gold that turns to dust
But this heart still pushes blood
blood that flows outside and
then turns to rust
How could you
turn my fields into dust
and my heart into rust
and say "it's all fair?"
It's not all fair.
But this field will grow again

Convicted of the truth, I don't feel a thing, marrow of my bones to swear on holy relics
revolution girl, doctors be damned, she is alive to rise against the reaping
breaking up the stocks, overturn the block, cut all the ropes
vive la révolution

Because this field still pushes grain
grain that turns gold
and gold that turns to dust
Because this heart still pushes blood
blood that flows outside and
then turns to rust
How could you
turn my fields into dust
and my heart into rust
and say "it's all fair?"
It's not all fair.
But this heart will beat again
